The Long & Foster Companies once again raised money for Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic during a charity golf tournament at 1757 Gold Club in Dulles, Va., on June 2. The sold-out tournament raised $6,500 for the organization.

The winning team included Shane Yeager and Chris Jeffries, with the trio of Raie Paxon, John Astorino and Dale Gabardy taking second place, and the foursome of Jim Weinschenk, Nate Shapiro, Mary Bowen and Don Metcalf taking third place. The men’s longest drive winner was Andrew DeCenzo, while Maura Sullivan took both the women’s longest drive and closest to the pin, and the men’s closest to the pin winner was Bernie Myers.

“We’re thrilled with the success of this year’s event, which raised money for the very deserving Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic organization,” said Dave Rotell, vice president and area sales manager at Prosperity Home Mortgage and coordinator of the golf tournament. “Attendance was sold out once again and we met and exceeded our donation goal while having an excellent time on the course.”

Sponsors of the event included Prosperity Home Mortgage, LLC, Long & Foster Insurance, Long & Foster Real Estate, RGS Title and Long & Foster Home Service Connections—all part of the Long & Foster family of companies. Additionally, Fair Oaks Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Chantilly, Olympia Moving & Storage, US Inspect, Belfor Property Restoration, 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, and HMS Home Warranty (Long & Foster Home Warranty Plan) each contributed to the event as sponsors. Tom Gavin’s DJ Delights provided entertainment and Clarice Russeil of Salutation Station provided event photography.

“At Long & Foster, we’re dedicated to giving back to the neighborhoods in which we live and work, and no matter if we’re participating in a charity golf tournament like this event or volunteering during our annual Community Service Day initiative, we’re always thrilled to support the local community,” said Jeffrey S. Detwiler, president and chief operating officer of The Long & Foster Companies.
