Real estate veteran brings over a decade of experience to new position

Long & Foster Real Estate, the nation’s No. 1 privately owned residential real estate company, has named Kara Chaffin-Donofrio as the managing broker of its Arlington, Virginia, sales office. Chaffin-Donofrio has been part of Long & Foster’s leadership team for several years and comes to the Arlington office from Long & Foster’s Chevy Chase location in Washington, D.C.

“Long & Foster has built a leading presence in the Arlington community, and I’m thrilled to take on this new position, helping our agents and their clients to achieve even greater success in real estate,” said Chaffin-Donofrio. “As always, my goal is to partner with our sales associates in helping them grow their careers and build our office’s and company’s brand in Northern Virginia.”

Chaffin-Donofrio has a background in both existing and new construction home sales, having started her real estate career with NVHomes in Northern Virginia more than a decade ago. After almost four years in sales and marketing at NVHomes, she joined the Long & Foster family as a sales associate in 2009. Building on her personal and professional network, Chaffin-Donofrio quickly built a solid referral-based business. Within just a couple years as a Realtor, she had earned recognition as a top producer in her Long & Foster office.

Her commitment to her clients and their success also stood out to the Long & Foster leadership team, and she earned a promotion to manager of the brokerage’s Logan Circle office. There, she helped her agents to grow their own businesses, relying on her dedication to providing exceptional service and offering reliable and trustworthy advice to do so. She later took the helm at the company’s Chevy Chase office in Washington, D.C., where her positive attitude and creative approach to problem solving have helped the team to succeed.

“It takes a highly skilled and knowledgeable leader to support real estate professionals in today’s competitive market,” said Larry “Boomer” Foster, president of Long & Foster Real Estate. “We are confident that adding Kara to the Long & Foster leadership team will result in the synergy that our agents thrive on. This is how our company has continued to help local buyers and sellers meet their homeownership goals for nearly 50 years.”
