Long & Foster Real Estate, the largest privately-owned residential real estate company in the United States, welcomes Heather Placer to its team of professionals. Placer will specialize in working with commercial buyers and sellers.

“We are very excited and fortunate to have Heather join our team of highly trained professionals,” said Nancy Steinke, manager of the Lake Gaston office. “The combination of Long & Foster and Heather’s unique skills and knowledge will no doubt provide the highest level of service to buyers and sellers across central and southern Virginia, from Richmond to Lake Gaston.”

Placer is participating in Long & Foster’s Success Path program, which offers extensive training and resources for agents at any stage of their career. The program’s curriculum includes tools for agents to build their business, mentor-style programs, techniques for prospecting and working with buyers and sellers, skills for negotiating, and more. Placer holds membership in the Roanoke Valley Lake Gaston Board of Realtors.

“I’ve spent 20-plus years in commercial real estate valuation, hold the Member Appraisal Institute and Senior Residential Appraiser designations of the Appraisal Institute as well as numerous valuations in retail, office, and other commercial type properties. This has given me the experience to understand the valuation aspects of the business and I look forward to putting this expertise to work for my buyers and sellers as well,” Placer said.

“The dynamics of today’s residential real estate market are constantly changing and Heather has the right tools to meet those changing dynamics,” said Gary Scott, president of Long & Foster Real Estate. “We welcome Heather to Long & Foster, a company that has helped local buyers and sellers reach their homeownership goals for more than 45 years.”

Placer holds a master’s degree in real estate valuation from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va., where she also teaches as an adjunct faculty member. She resides in Midlothian, Va., full time as well as part time in Bracey, Va. She has one daughter.
