Gartenberg attended Damelin College in South Africa and received a Bachelor of Arts in theology before she and her husband immigrated to the United States 21 years ago. She lives in Media, and has two daughters and six grandchildren. In her spare time, Gartenberg enjoys volunteering at the Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital with her therapy dog, Levi.
